James Addo is an experienced litigator having represented clients before all the Courts of Ghana with particular experience in commercial and corporate litigation. He has regularly appeared before the Commercial Court of Ghana since its inception in 2004, and has extensive experience and knowledge in the practice and procedure of that Court. He has experience in admiralty actions having conducted matters valued in excess of US$10,000,000.00.
Mr. Addo has experience in the complex area of conveyancing in Ghana and advises investors and corporations on the acquisition of land interests. He specializes in the incorporation and registration of companies, partnerships and sole proprietorships, including setting up corporate vehicles for foreign investment and obtaining work permits and resident permits under the Ghana Investment Promotion Center Act and through the Immigration Service. Mr. Addo also has experience drafting and reviewing commercial and corporate agreements on behalf of corporations and state enterprises in the real estate, banking and retail industries.
He has acted for clients including Social Security and National Insurance Trust (benefits claims), National Communications Authority, Barclays Bank of Ghana, Mechanical Lloyd, Du-fry & Ghana Tourist Development Company.
